Environmentally friendly fur, a new trend under ‘sustainable fashion’
As the fashion icon of winter, fur is also an indispensable classic item in modern women’s wardrobes. Since the moment fur was used by humans, with the advancement of technology and society, the controversy surrounding fur has been long-standing.

Looking back at the long development of human civilization, from the historical evolution of different periods, to the popularity of fashion shows in the new century, and to the gradual replacement of animal fur with artificial fur, whether to wear fur has become a question in pursuing fashion and protecting the ecology. Sustainable fashion is an issue that cannot be ignored.

Environmental pioneer Stella McCartney once said, “Fur is not a byproduct; it is an industry that exploits death.” (Fur is not a byproduct, but an industry that capitalizes on death.).

In recent years, “fur removal” has become one of the socially responsible measures taken by fashion brands. FFR is initiated by the International Fur Free Alliance (FFA) to encourage fashion brands to not use fur, protect animals, and continue the future of humanity. Since Calvin Klein became the first fashion brand to join FFR in 1994, brands such as Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Armani, Versace, Stella McCartney, Burberry, etc. have also joined.

As a member of FFA, Action Asia introduced the FFR project to China in 2012 and actively promoted its development. Today, more than 50 Chinese designers and brands including ICICLE Zhihe, Zaiyihang, and Jicheng announced their joining FFR to jointly enhance the influence of the “Zero Fur” plan in the Chinese fashion industry.
