Swedish clothing sales surge
On December 10th, the Swedish Daily reported that the Swedish Trade Style Index showed a significant increase in clothing sales in physical stores and e-commerce platforms in Sweden in November. Sales increased by 55% compared to the same period last year and 11% compared to the same period in 2019. In November, shoe sales increased by 64% compared to the same period last year, but decreased by 6.8% compared to the same period in 2019.
Mats Hedenstrm, the head of business policy at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, stated that data shows that customers across the country are returning to fashion consumption, which is very satisfying.
But as the number of infections increases, people are concerned that the restrictions of the coronavirus may bring logistical and transportation challenges.
